Academic Advising for Current UT Psychology Majors

  • You may join the virtual drop-in queue by clicking this WaitWell link or you may click the orange virtual drop-in button below
  • Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis by next available PSY advisor for 10-15 minutes for quick questions
  • Must be currently declared PSY major to join virtual drop-ins (e.g., continuing PSY major from spring 2024)
  • New, incoming students (freshman or transfer) for summer 2024 or fall 2024 are NOT eligible for virtual drop-ins

WaitWell Live Virtual Drop-Ins:

  • The Psychology Advising Team is piloting a new online system (WaitWell) to serve current PSY majors in a live, virtual drop-in environment to field quick questions related to summer 2024/fall 2024 schedules, degree requirements, or time sensitive registration matters (NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY)
  • See instructions on How to Join Psychology Virtual Drop-Ins via WaitWell system
  • Current PSY majors may click on the orange Drop-Ins button below to join the queue to meet with a PSY advisor
  • Current PSY majors will be served on a first-come, first-served basis by the next available PSY advisor.
  • The queue will close at specified closing time (or before specified closing time, if time is needed to serve all current PSY majors already in queue)

Students NOT eligible for this service:

  • students who are not currently a PSY major
  • PSY majors who are incoming, new students (freshmen or transfers) and the first semester at UT Austin will be summer 2024 or fall 2024 

 

The Psychology Advising Team is now accepting standard 25-minute appointments to discuss short-term and long-term degree planning, general academic concerns, graduation questions, SUCCESS agreements (for students on scholastic probation), and post-graduation planning.  

Current PSY majors may schedule a virtual or in-person academic advising appointment via Microsoft Bookings using one of the buttons below. PSY majors are welcome to schedule an appointment with any available PSY advisor.  

Note: If you are an incoming freshman or transfer student for fall 2024 who has been admitted to the PSY major, you MUST follow all instructions from New Student Services (NSS) to complete your new student orientation requirements. You will meet with an academic advisor as a part of orientation, and you should NOT schedule an advising appointment directly with our office until you have completed all orientation requirements-including orientation advising.***
